Homelessness

About Turning Point Center

Turning Point Center is a 501(c)(3) established by Isha Desselle in 1988. She sold her house and used all her savings to buy a 34-unit apartment complex. Her goal is to provide support to elderly homeless and women with children. Often times, people end up in a hopeless situation due to circumstances in their life that can be very overwhelming. Turning Point Center takes in these homeless people during the worst time of their lives to give them a chance to get back into society as a productive member.

Turning Point Center was a rundown building. World Will Be Better (WWBB) played a part in giving residents upgraded housing, so they can feel good about the place while they get rehabilitated. People often think that just because they are homeless,  they don’t care about feeling comfortable. We find that not to be true. We understand real estate, so this is our small way of giving back.

Rescue

Turning Point Center’s residents come to us from local churches, hospitals, evictions, homeless shelters, and other agency referrals. And, of course, directly off the streets.

Housing

Turning Point Center provides shelter to individuals, aged 50 and above, who are unable to provide safe and adequate living conditions for themselves.

Rehabilitation

Turning Point Center offers food, shelter, and other rehabilitative services to meet the physical and emotional needs of a neglected segment of society.
